Tele-Medicine Visits

Tele-Medicine Visits through Zoom

An in-office visit allows a more comprehensive (and complete) evaluation, examination and management to occur. However, in an event that a physical in-office visit is not possible, an option for a Telemedicine visit can be given.

Go to zoom.us. We will provide you meeting ID and password. Enter your meeting ID and PASSWORD provided by the us. Click Join. If this is your first time joining from Google Chrome, you will be asked to open the Zoom client to join the meeting.

Tele-Medicine Visits through Healow

Our office EMR has an option for Telemedicine visit through Healow software.

An in-office visit allows a more comprehensive (and complete) evaluation, examination and management to occur. However, in an event that a physical in-office visit is not possible, an option for a Telemedicine visit can be given.

  • Prerequisite: You must be previously web-enabled to our practice portal, have logged in and created a password. You will need CHROME or FIREFOX browsers. Do not use Safari (the browser on Apple products) – it won’t work!
  • The telemedicine visit will be billed to your insurance just like a normal office visit and you will be responsible for copays or deductibles.
  • Prior to your appointment you will be asked to confirm your insurance and pay your copay or a portion of your deductible before the appointment with a credit card over the phone.
  • Once a Telemedicine visit is scheduled by office staff, you will receive an email from North TX Diabetes Endo
    It is best to open this email on a computer. (Check junk or spam email if you cannot find the email).
    The email will include the appointment date, time and the name of the provider. You can click on the box to get you the process started.
  • An online consent form will need to be accepted.
  • You can enter vitals to whatever level possible (height, weight, temperature if checked, BP if you have a at home BP machine*)
  • Once above steps are complete, click ‘proceed’
  • A check list will appear to make sure camera and microphone are enabled.
  • Once above steps are done a screen will appear “Start Televisit.’ Click on this. You will be in a virtual waiting room.
  • 15-30 minutes prior to your appointment, a nurse will call the telephone number on file to review medications, history and symptoms. Then she will inform the provider that you are ready for the Televisit. If the provider is still with his/her previous appointment you may have to wait a few minutes.
  • Once the above steps are completed, the physician will log in and start the Televisit as long you ‘are online’.
  • If you do not answer when the nurse calls you, she will make one more attempt a few minutes later. If she is unable to talk to you, your appointment will be considered a ‘no show’ (please note there is a missed appointment fee in such cases).

For patients who are having technical difficulties with Televisit through Healow, other options can be given. The office staff will give you instructions if this is needed.
